    Angelic music
I am going to 'fess up to something that has always been a bit of a secret love affair of mine... I absolutely LOVE ADORE choir type music - the voices are so absolutely amazing, some of the best singing ever heard.

One of my favorite songs of all time is 'Oh Holy Night', and in browsing tonight, found this copy.. melted my heart! (ok, I am a huge softy..sue me!)

If you can think of anything, or find anything that you think I would like, please..post here with links.. I will rate :)

    Narnia
Just got back from watching The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and I have to say that I was suitable impressed. Not as good as the first one, and despite the pretty flakey start, it quickly built into a decent movie with plenty of action and lots of fuzzy little creatures.

If your a huge fan of the first one, dont go with high expectations of it beating the first movie as you will be disappointed, but as a stand alone movie, yes its very good and until the official release of Kung Fu Panda next week, probably the best thing out at the cinema at the moment.

    Next Weekend
Thorpe Park!!! Yes, as some of you are aware already, we are going to be going to Thorpe Park next weekend. Anyone that requires a lift, as long as you can get to Brum furry Headquaters i.e. our gaf, then we are happy to assist. We are now aiming to make something of a weekend out of it. Thorpe Park on the saturday, back to our place in the evening for games, suiting, pizza...that kinda thing.. and then on Sunday, go to see Kung Fu Panda at the Birmingham I-max cinema. Score!!

Please let myself or [info]badgerguy through the normal sources as always - if people wish to stop here, we need to know in advance how many etc...

    And finally....
It came to my attention at Confuzzled last weekend (to which I probably wont get around to writing a report about now Im afraid, but hats off to those involved, went well) that I simply hvent dont any artwork in nearly 7 months now. I have good reasons, but none enough that I should have just stopped doing it altogether. I decided to be a bit spontanious. Therefore, Im just going to be picking people at random in my friends list and drawing their characters - see exactly how rusty I have become.. watch this space!!

    Eurofurence Fursuit Skit
Those of you who attended last year will recall that I did a skit with [info]hawthon, and I am once again looking to do one this year too. The problem is is that my idea requires 6 fursuiters and a well rehersed approach.

Hawthorn and myself make up 2 of the 6. I am therefore looking for 4 more fursuiters that are keen on taking part in the skit. All it will require is your co-operation and committment. I will provide the entire routine and direction.

The idea is very much in keeping with the theme of the event but does as mentioned need practising, and would require part of an evening rehersal at EF itself. Between now and the con, I would very much like to get together to rehearse.

Therefore, if you are interested, or know of someone that is interested, pleas please please let me know! Only contact me if you are serious about taking part. Leave a comment or email colifox at hotmail dot com

    Stan Winston aged 62
It is not often that I will jump on a friends band wagon and copy a post about 'some celebrity' - but once in a while, one of these celebrity dies for whom I had a great deal of respect for.

Unfortunately the sad news breaks today that special effects genius Stan Winston has died aged 62.

The reason I choose to mention this is that I am an avid and huge Alien/Aliens fan and they are still to this date in my opnion some of the best movies made ever. Such movies would not have been possible however without Stan Winstons ability to bring the creatues to life AND be scarily believable.

A pioneer of the industry, probably often over looked by fans of movies, I implore you to look through his IMDB database and see some of the best blockbuster movies of the last 3 decades listed in his works. None of those would have been possible without this man. I for one will miss his influence on any future movies and just hope that there is a plethora of talent in the wings waiting to follow in his footsteps.

Im surprised no one decided to mention this yet... its currently doing the rounds on UK television :)

In addition, in the news today was this story. Its facinating stuff. To think they are so secluded that something we take for granted like an airplane is soooo alien to them.

    Busy busy weekend!
so the weekend started nice and early for me as on Friday, we were graced by the presence of [info]avalanche and [info]emejn. They had both popped down to go and see the stage performance of Dr Dolittle with us.

What a magnificant treat it truely was! I can assure you those of you that thought about joining us but never pulled your thumbs out, you really have missed something quite spectacular. I have never in my life given a standing ovation at a performance, but I was one of many that was to my feet by the end of it.

Of course the acting was fantastic, whitty, colourful and with entertaining lines; 'my parents gave me my name straightarrow. I grew up in Oxford you see and they always said "he's goin' straight 't Harrow"'. However, the ture magic was the suits used for some of the animals - in particular Kip the dog, the Push me pull you, the elephant and the baby mammouth. Outstanding!!! Each time the dog was on stage, my eyes were more focused on him than the rest of the play. The quality, calibur, detail and yes evening the acting of the suit was.. OUT OF THIS WORLD. I have searched in vain to try and find a snippet of them on youtube or in production notes, but I couldnt find anything.

To give you an idea, those of you that follow the fursuit LJ that remember a post some months ago about the quality of the English Sheepdog fursuit from the Victorian Stage show.. just think that!

Of course what I forgot to mention is that before heading out to the play, I got a phone call from my Mum to tell me that I am now officially an uncle. My brother and his wife gave birth to their baby son, Aaron. So now I can call my parents grammy and gramps... they will LOVE that :P

Today I have cut the grass in the garden and truely caught the sun on my face. Of course it was blistering heat. Some of it I probably got the day before also from the BBQ that I put on for our guests. The weather has held out this weekend and its been fantastic - if not quite uncomfortable witht he mugginess. After grass cutting, we all went exploring in the local park and played a bit of baddmington. All in all, a fantastic weekend.

I think the next Brum event is likely to be going to see Indian Jones at the electric theatre. For those of you unaware of why this is so special - its a very upper class, spared no expense in comfort cinema where you can text orders to the bar and have waiters bring you your drinks. WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

    Copied from [info]badgerguy
We're planning to go and see Doctor Dolittle at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Saturday 10th May!

This is an open invite to anyone who'd like to come see it with us! You'll need to let either myself or Colifox badgerguy know soon, as tickets are going fast already! Let us know if you definately want to go - we'll be making a ticket booking no later than this Wednesday!

We're aiming for the evening show on the Saturday (7.30PM), prices range between £13 and £30 depending on what seats we can get - sorry we can't be more specific, but we'll try to keep in touch with you as we making the booking so we can let you know the final prices.

Afterwards, it's all round to ours! In fact, you can turn up as early as Friday and we can make a weekend of it (from the people that brought you BrumCon, and BrumCon 2!)

Quick note on Transport: we're easy to get to by car or train, and we're not far from the city centre for actually getting in to see the show - if you're planning on joining us for just the show (ie, not stopping over), Birmingham Hippodrome is not far from Birmingham New Street Station, or there is a car park (at the Arcadian Centre) very close too.

So, puppets, animals and costuming, crash space at our place, films, food, Mario Kart (possibly), and if you're very lucky, cake (in the form of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Im sure)
